Request for participation by community and faith leaders
Dear community leaders  -

The time is now and we are the ones being called upon to provide guidance and support during these troubled times.
Please take an hour and join us for this very important community prayer vigil.

MCSO (Maricopa County Sheriff's Office) has increased their community oppression tactics it is essential we begin this year - come together and stand as one community united for the human rights and dignity of all.

PRAYER VIGIL FOR CIVIL RIGHTS: Then and Now
Who: Maricopa Citizens for Safety and Accountability (MCSA)
Where: Cesar Chavez Plaza -201 W. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ
When: Thursday -January 15th, 2009 from 5:30pm-6:30pm
Why: Unjust laws and the abuse of power have made Maricopa County a zone of intimidation, leading to jeopardizing of public safety and no accountability by elected officials.
What:  Prayer vigil to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday.  MCSA honors the struggle, sacrifices, and determination of the Civil Rights Movement and prays for the changes that need to happen in Maricopa County to end civil right violations such as racial profiling.
