Fundraiser - This is H.O.W.
On Sunday, February 15th, 2009, at Velocity (2303 E. Indian School Road, roughly 24th Street and Indian School) This Is H.O.W. will be holding a fundraiser.

It will run from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

This Is H.O.W. is the only transgender focused substance abuse recovery house in the Nation that provides in house counseling and residence facilities.

In the last 3 years, this is HOW has helped 68 people reach sobriety and freedom from substance abuse, and move on to better lives. We are attempting to maintain funding for the house, which is not inexpensive to keep operating.

TIH is supported entirely through fundraisers and small donations from people like you and I. Maria DeNicola is a huge aid to TIH, and as some of you may recall, I was both a client -- saved from homelessness -- and the house manager for most of 2008. In November of 2008, I was elected to the Board and named Chair.

I strongly urge all of you to become involved in this fundraiser -- even if its only to attend for the fun of it.

We will be having a "Gayest Dog Ever" Dogshow, awarding ribbons and prizes for 12 categories: best small dog, best large dog, Most Butch, Most Nelly, Best Appearance, Best Fashion, and more. We are asking for a 5.00 donation as an entry fee.

We will have nail grooming and trimming on site.

Throughout the day there will be raffles, 50/50's, Auctions, and a rummage sale.

There will also be performances in two shows.

And, of course, food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and trimmings!

You love or hate the day before, but you'll only enjoy coming down to the TIH Fundraiser the day after.

If I can donate a few bucks, anyone can :D
